Fro' Me To You- Kindergarten

This is my kindergarten's class picture...I found it the other day, and it brings back a lot of memories! Of the 23 kids, I can remember 16 of their names exactly. Some I think I know, but not quite sure. I labeled the ones I knew. Of those 16, 14 were in my graduating class of 434. And, that may not seem amazing to some- but I grew up in Bartlesville. Ye ol' Phillips 66 is where the majority of families were employed and they transferred people in and out all the time. I saw many friends go, and some even return, and go again! Of those 14 in this picture, 5 I am friends with on Facebook- so I have spoken with them recently. (Facebook and Twitter- where were you all my life?- Oh, that is another post) Anyway, I thought this would be a fun Fro' Me to You. And, I don't even want to point out that my Grayce will start Kindergarten exactly 30 (AHHHHHH) years after this photo was taken. Oh my gosh this picture is almost 30 years old. {crying out loudly, as if in child bearing pain}

Ice, Ice Baby

OH, yes, it was my intention to get you singing that song in your head. All the live long day.

Here in ICEland it is freezing. We have about 3/4 of an inch of solid ice, now covered by the dryest snow I've ever seen. It is very strange.

My poor shubbery is looking poised in whatever state is was blown in, then frozen to...

Above and below are the same bush, taken last night and then this AM- so maybe you can tell what happened overnight. That was my intention (along with making you sing Vanilla Ice). But, I am not sure I did a fantastic job on the photo comparison. BUT, in my defense it is (a FREEZING cold and b) It hurts when frozen ice is pelting you from the sky.


It's a huge mess, but very, very stunning all at the same time. We still have power and warmth, so far, so good. It's still falling, though. We (as in me, the 2 kids and the dog & hedgie)will just be here trying to find things to do ...I'm hoping they don't bore themselves of movies and video games until their dad gets home around 6pm.

Annoying!

Ok, it's finally happened. I have had to turn on comment moderation and make people fill in those dumb non-readable things because of SPAM commenting. Does this mean I have bloggerrived? 'Cause it's annoying. And it stinks. Plus, if I wasn't so in love with twitter, I'd have to blame those blasted birds. This didn't happen until I started tweeting o' my posts! Bah!

Tennis, anyone?

For months, G2 has been begging to have lessons.

Tennis lessons.

At some point I will actually sign her up for some. But, she was more concerned lately about the equipment purchase, than anything else. You know, important stuff.

THEN, while at Target, we came across HSM3 tennis clothes. And they were 75% off. And, she had to have them. Of course, she also had to do her best hamming, er modeling, for the camera- too. Here's to the next Maria...

So, the other day I was perusing through some old stuff- and found a scrapbook from when I was younger. And then- what did I find??

My very own FRO'. Yikes. There are so many things scary in this photo, maybe none more than my hair. I don't know- that blue velour shirt and the horrific brown decor are following a close second!
