The Monday Day Football Report

So as not to disappoint those who log in for 3rd grade football coverage, here are the photo's from the weekend game. Unfortunately, we lost. And not by a little either. They had film on us, we didn't on them. YES. There is film circulating in 3rd grade football. Obviously, it is necessary. Above, the boy is up front in a great running shot. No, I do not remember why, to or from what they are running.

This one is a good defensive effort. My husband will tell me if I am wrong- but I think the boy was back at corner most of this game. That is except for a few times, when he had a headache because someone else's helmet hit his. Then he didn't want to play for awhile- I guess. This is only here say from the sideline. He went back in anyway after a bit. Meanwhile, I was on the other side witnessing why it's good to have film. They immediately knew a substituion we made would cause a certain weakness, changed the play, and scored. I was clearly standing in a blue shirt on their sideline, but I heard all the- uh-"chatter" for lack of a nicer term. I mean, all the "Look, 28 is in for 42- change up red45 to p67 and put Davis on the right." (and I changed the numbers to protect the innocent, so don't try and decipher) This kind of took the fun out of it, if you ask me.

Anyway, on to next week. And, we have film on them don't we?
(As always, all the photo fun HERE! )

Oh, Taylor Swift...We STILL Need Connections

If you noticed the countdown clicker over on the left, we are t-minus (5) days till concert time. We have had tickets since like, April 10th ( to be exact), to see Taylor Swift. (Yes, she is coming with Rascal Flatts, but we really don't care about that- sorry boys, we know you are the headliner and all, but not according to the word of Grayce!) Now, 6 months is a very long time for a 4 year old to wait for anything. STILL, she is trying her best. What she doesn't understand though- is how we are not actually going to get talk to Taylor "Mama Don't Know" Swift. I have us entered AND RE-ENTERED in every contest I can find. But, seeing as how I have never won a thing except $4 in powerball STILL, I am not holding out much hope for us. So, connections. We need some. See the cute, 'Mama Don't Know' fan above? She wants to meet her. BAD. Taylor? Joe Jonas? Grayce needs some backstage passes. She is your biggest 4 year old fan. She bought new cowboy boots and everything! I mean, this is a love story! Dearest Taylor, I signed the guestbook on your site. I sent a MySpace message. I did everything that was suggested to get these elusive "passes". My only excitement so far, is that on the very day I posted the first post, someone in Nashville received and read a link to ONLY THIS POST on their MAC. Whew! Someone emailed someone the link to this post ya'll, IN Nashville. AND they had a MAC (fyi, word on the street TS does). I'm just sayin'-I'm gonna believe someone is hooking me up as we speak! Please & thank you, if so!

Hush A Bye, Baby

Yesterday, it was "Nursery Rhyme" character day at Grayce's school. This is really the schools way of allowing the kids to dress up and it not be labeled "Halloween". This would be my humble opinion, of course. Anyway, we were sent a long list of suggestions. I generally don't have any Jack Be Nimble's handy. But, when given the chance to be a baby- and get her beloved PACIE back for a day- Grayce was not giving up that chance.

So, Hush A Bye, Baby she was. We found all the items we could. The pacie (of course), a bib, a little blankie- we put her in pajamas, and off she went. I fixed all these errant tags she has hanging out- AFTER the photos, of course. She was ever so pleased to be called a baby, because she got to have that pacie back. Lately, she isn't so fond of the word. Well, she tells me I can still call her that- but quickly reminds me she 'WILL be marrying a boy, you know, MOM'.

Yearbook Yourself

My friend Cindy, who found from our friend Kathy this link- for I guess none other than the pure amont of laughter and wasted time it can provide you! Go, yearbook yourself I say! See what you could of looked like back in '78.

Or '66.

Or '76. Oh, ode to Fro' Me to You!

Or 1990. Hey, I was a sophomore then. I probably did look like that.
Or '74. Not bad for the year I was born.

This one from '82 might be the worst.

This one is from 1996- the year I was married. AND, my hair really did look like this. Was I in style OR what?

Feather Fest at the Zoo

Today was Grayce's friend's Kenzie's real birthday, so before school we took the girls to the zoo. The feather fest exhibit is on until the 1st of October where you can buy a stick of food and let the birds come and land. This is an experience! Grayce was fine, as long as they landed on the stick. She was not so fond of them landing on HER.
It was beautiful weather and the girls were very hyper- so I hope they settled down for school. They will be having cupcakes in the afternoon, so that won't help much!

Princess & Pirate Party

Saturday after Gavin's football game, when hurricane Ike was visiting us in Oklahoma, it was Kenzie's birthday party. Princess and Pirates was the theme, and Grayce got all dressed up in her finest princess attire.

Gavin was also invited to the party, but please note, a) he did not dress up and b) he did not wish to be photographed.
However, he did run around later like a crazy 8 year old and have a pirate hat on with a sword. Ok, 2 swords- maybe 3.

Here are Princess Grayce and Princess Kenzie.

If you look really close you can find Gavin in this picture! Kind of like where's Waldo.

Vintage Style Football Pics

This week, Gavin's Bixby Blue team played Stillwater, and won 13-7. For some reason this week- he didn't play a single play of offense, even though he had quite a stellar game last week at the one back spot. He was in at defense most of the game at safety- not even what he played at last week. Not sure what that change up is about either. Anway, I'm just the mom. Whatever. This week my photos are taking a different edit- vintage. Above, that is not even my kid. That is one of the 3 Zach's. He runs a lot- he gets a lot of great pics taken. He's on the blog because its a great pic. I don't know who that Stillwater player is, sorry.

Here is my boy on the right running during kick off.

Here he is again, not doing anything all that exciting. If you are the safety and other people do their jobs, then your mom can't take your picture of you in action much.

Fiddlestix, they almost made that a good picture for us! Also, as always, you can view all the football pics here.

Annoyed...

I was working last night to make my blog a 3 column, and had to change my background over to something new. I carefully did this in a very difficult and precise manner, as not to upset the "widgets". (Could the blogger people just offer a stinking 3 column layout, seriously!) And, I thought I had made it through without a hitch- until this morning- when I noticed that every single link in my blog roll is missing. ERG. Why? Why would the links be deleted and not the section? Why, why, why? Now I am going to have to go and find all those stinking links AGAIN and re-do it! A-n-n-o-y-i-n-g!

Wayback Wednesday- NEW! (You can play to)

Every Wednesday, we are going wayback...for the purpose of blogging. So, get out your old photos, new pics of your kids in old fashions, or just stories about old stuff. But, it has to be wayback back- like the 80's & beyond-o. I will put a Mr. Linky on and you can share to, and it will be fun. I was inspired by THAT family and her 'fro me to you' series...and maybe I will even throw in a contest- because I had so much fun with this weeks winners! See right.Anway, here is my very first one. But, pay attention, or you will be confused.

This is MY MOM. She is being given flowers from JOE'S UNCLE. This was in 1976. I was born in 1974, Joe was born in 1975. We did not meet until 1994. So, for the record Joe's uncle gave my mom some flowers 18 years before we ever met. Why? I bet you are asking yourself.

First, Joe's mom is the youngest of a whole lotta kids. So, he has cousins older than she is. My mother taught some of these cousins in high school, and some of them belonged to said uncle. Anyway, lets also just say that my mom was sure hoping Joe was nothing like said cousins. Anyway at some sports banquet, my mom was presented some flowers- and Joe's unlce was the presenter in Stroud America. This is totally random-ness, I tell you. And it is even more random that Joe's Aunt kept the picture and gave it to me like 24 years later. Are you ready for more??

That said Uncle is Santa Claus. He looks like this all the time and totally weirds my kids out. Yip, our Uncle IS Santa. At Tulsa Promenade Mall...maybe you have had your picture with him too?? (well, he was there for many years, but now he is at a mall in Arkansas- this makes things a little easier) He is a great Santa, really great. Very authentic, and everything- IF you are not related to him because then its confusing as to why he isn't at the North Pole making toys and why he is at the lake for a family reunion or what not. You know, normal kid questions.
