Dearest Internettes:

Why, why, why? I am still so incredibly upset about the loss of the babies in

my blog world this past week.

As you know, I have chosen to head up the TULSA area (THE SOUTHERN FAMILY ) team for Maddie and MOD at the walk here

in Tulsa on 4.25.09 at 10am. I have broadcast this before, and it's on the blog, and facebook. However- no ONE has signed up to

be on the team or to pledge any money. Of course, I myself gave money to Maddie's Mom's team for the LA Walk- so I don't even have a

donation to myself. I know ya'll can change that!! I know it. Oklahoma peeps (especially) can sign up to walk with me and the fam

(and if not the Dad and boy because of baseball- then ME and the Girl, at the very least). Now, I am not one to just up and join a cause

and all- so really y'all should see this as a great idea of mine and please help a sistah out. Um, so I don't look like a loooooser if nothing else.

I am including some links about Maddie below. Beware when reading -especially the last post by her mom, which is the speech

SHE was strong enough to read at Maddie's funeral today. She is braver than I think I could ever be. She's a hero for her Maddie.

More than likely, I would be on valium and tranqulizers and laying in a dark room never to return to the light of day.

That is what I imagine it to be like. But, I am sure it is a million times worse than that. Heather and her husband had beautiful

words about their baby. They are some of the bravest people I know. And by know, I mean that I read her blog

and tweets, and I was once VERY concerned that Heather needed stitches and tried to convince her via twitter- yet I was not all that

convincing. She should have listened to me though- she in fact needed them but waited too long. That is my only

actual communication with this woman who is my hero today. We've never met but we have connected- connected through

the love of our babies, and the Mommyhood we share.

Wha?

Okay, I just noticed that I wrote a post, that is not up? Hmm. Odd that it isn't and that I JUST now noticed. Erg. It was from Thursday.

I have been incredibly upset since earlier this week, with the unexpected passing of one of my blogging mama friend's, dear Madeline who was 17 months old. I was beyond upset. It was so sudden, and final. It's just the worst.

As you can see my blog background is purple, and if you follow me on twitter my avatar is purple. There are 100's of sweet people that have gone GRAPE!! Purple is the color of the March of Dimes. And, now, because we needed one: I am the team Captain for the Maddie team here in Tulsa for the MOD walk. I have a button in my right hand column with a link to sponsor or join my team! I shall find the lost post soon. I am still working on my new laptop getting all the stuff on it I need. Yes, a new to me laptop. It's shiny and red. It's a DELL. I got it for $160 bucks on ebay!

WFMW: Tablecloth Valance

Today for WFMW, I am sharing my valance in the gameroom upstairs. It's an oval tablecloth cut in half. It was on clearance with the tassels and all! I then sewed 2 straight lines for the curtain rod. The 2 coordinating panels were scrap fabric I did the same stich on and got for $2. The whole very wide window was less than $20. Now go out and look at tablecloths with a differnet eye. Works with round ones too! (If you don't have a sewing machine or serger handy- then I am sure you can use the fabric hem glue.)

Season Opener: Starting Pitcher for the Yankees

Here's my starting pitcher for the BIXBY Yankees. Maybe, one day for the original.

We had our first game on Saturday against a BA team. Gavin was the starting pitcher and threw 5 strikeouts. Also, there were only 2 hits off him in the 3 innings he pitched. He did a great job! He was very nervous- you could tell- even though he said he wasn't. Also, he only hit one batter. Good thing the kid had a helmet on... The BA pitcher hit 2 of our kids- plus he outweighed Gavin by about 75 pounds. Humorous. I was very proud of Gavin, he did wonderfully for our very first game of the season, and our very first game of kid pitch. He is a lefty and throws a slight curve. You would see the boys move because they thought it might hit them- and then the ump would yell- "Steeerike". I am hoping he keeps it up. Maybe to pay for college. Or allow me to retire.

Here is the princess at the game. She uses this as social hour. She finds friends, they play with rocks and dirt and barbies. Good times for her. She also sports her pink Yankees shirt. Game fashion is important. She had to have a hat, too. But today she had to let one of the boys we were late picking up on the team borrow it. She was even gracious about it. I though for sure she would argue.
"It's one, two, three strikes your out...at the ol' ballgame!"

Fro' Me to You: Madison Mustangs

This is the post where I pay homage to the Madison Mustangs 8th Grade Pom Squad. Circa 1988.

Oh, please notice our adorable shoes. And my side ponytail, oddly obscured by the pom pom by my head. I am 3rd from the right on the bottom row, by the way. And my neck looks abnormally long. What was I thinking wearing my hair up?

That was some good fun with those girls. I still remember some of routines we had to Axel F (done with our horizontally striped green and white sweaters, it was WAY cool), Jailhouse Rock- in which we wore black soffes and men's white shirts we got a Goodwill and spray painted black stripes on, and stencil numbers- so we looked like convicts. Oh. It was cute stuff. And when I am totally Grayce's cheer coach, I am SO teaching them it. We also did one to some Paula Abdul song- I totally can't think of the name of right now. It's driving me crazy and I will have to go look it up before I can sleep. Something about a boy I think...

Wordless Wednesday- Grayce's Skate Party

80 year old Woman...

So, I am so tired I can't sleep. Exhausted. And still I'm up.

Friday the kids had well checks at the Dr. No shots. A first! Gavin had a sinus infection. No surprise really. That's the way we all feel around here! And this appt I asked about Gray's feet. She has the cutest ugly feet. Truthfully she has bunions. I was expecting the Dr to say we can't do anything until she's done growing.

Instead, she looks at them for a great while- noticing the remains of all the blisters and callouses she has. Then says: "I hardly ever refer anyone on- but she needs to see a pediatric orthopedist. She has the feet of an 80 yr old woman who wore pointy toe heels everyday. I have not seen the likes of this before. You must see a specialist- we can't just let anyone mess around with her feet." Whoa.

So, there is NO pediatric orthopedist in all of Tulsa. FYI to those in med school. One Dr comes over here from OKC. And not much I guess. June 26 is his next available. Mkay. Guess I'm taking her to OKC.

We go on April 20. I figure if we need something done, we should do at the start of summer and not lollygag about figuring it out. We have swimming to do and a state pageant to win! From what I can tell there is one procedure called a PE. Something about putting a staple in the growth plate. The poor baby girl and her cute ugly feet. They hurt her all the time. The blisters she gets alone are bad enough. Shoe shopping she LOVES- and we have many she adores but won't wear- pointing to various places and telling where they make her hurt. We have to fix her poor little feet!

Other than all that every one was looking good. Dr. was happy Gavin is up to 50%tile (he must have had heavy jeans on if you ask me!) and Gray remains all 90%'s. Her tallness is confirmed.

Birthday Candles

Since we rarely partay on actual birthdays, we always do an small actual birthday celebration. They get to pick dinner and then have the dessert they want. Gavin had ice cream cupcakes- a new item at Walmart, and very yummy. And dinner at Hideaway.

Grayce picked this cute little cake, and we had dinner at Santa Fe Cattle Co., with her friend Kenzie.
